I was so open, it felt like my pores were doorways into my soul.
Writing poetry while jogging was my way of alchemising my pain after ending a relationship that I’d had for literally half my life.
Every time I read these poems, I am back to Bucharest, in Harmony street, in my studio, putting on my running clothes and shoes and springing out into the darkness of yet another lonely night.
I took everything in: fragments of conversations I overheard, smells, textures, the taste of my own lips, the sound of my own breath.
On his particular night it was hot. And I could sense the breath of every living soul in a polyphony that felt overwhelming.
I allowed my structures to be invaded by the breath of the world. Until nothing but breath remained.
To me, it is fascinating to witness the complexity of life and the many levels on which we operate.
It felt miraculous to walk with my two kids in Harmony street and in the neighbouring streets last year. And to remember how I used to feel before they were born.
To be with them there felt as if they had also been, in a way, with me back then. I can sense their presence throughout timelines and lifelines.
I gathered the poems written during my night runs ten years ago into a book illustrated by the talented Doina Zavadschi.
After an unfortunate attempt to send this beauty out into the world through Amazon, we opted for quality and community. So I am actively reaching out to publishing houses.
Remember that your life is your work of art.
How are you expressing your Self?
How are you alchemising your pain?
What is the music you are creating through your existence?
